First of all, we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the many enthusiastic visitors to our gallery and for the numerous great reviews we have received on Google and Trip Advisor, as well as for many Instagram posts as comments. The worldwide praise for the exceptional curation is almost endless, and that makes us very proud and happy. Thank you very much for the great feedback!
We ourselves have been collecting art objects since 2010. In 2016 we first became aware of studio glass and in the years that followed we have acquired various works that literally give us a lot of joy every day and always put a smile on our faces.
In the pedestrian zone of Ascona we offer the approximately 1 million tourists every year a kind of free art museum with free guided tours in English and German (approx. 60 to 90 minutes if you are interested). During the season on 5 days a week (Thursday to Monday), and always by appointment!
Around 350 works of art by around 100 international artists from around 40 different countries await you in our exhibition. Young artists are also very welcome; the youngest (Hungarian) artist is currently 26 years old.
The videos of the various artists on our information displays, in which they demonstrate their production techniques, are also very impressive. Visitors to Ascona are amazed and regularly get very excited when they discover the glass "jewels" in our shop windows. Glass sculptures are UV-resistant and very durable.
Due to the gigantic production in Murano, many visitors have only ever seen blown glass. We do have blown glass from various continents in our exhibitions, but we mainly show glass melted in the furnace (cast glass), also with holograms, as well as cold-glued colour effect glass from America or cold-glued glass with mirrors from Eastern Europe or even three-dimensional glass painting.
Because in Ascona we don't just want to show sculptures in front of white walls, but rather create appropriate dialogues, we place sculptures (also made of wood, bronze, cardboard, synthetic resin and real butterflies) outside the shop windows in a dialogue with paintings, photo works, collages or wooden or glass wall sculptures.
We now have seven different exhibition themes in our gallery rooms in Ascona:
"Refreshing Water" as a tribute to the beautiful Lake Maggiore, with many appropriate works of art in the colours blue, transparent and silver (photos, paintings and sculptures, especially glass waves by Ivana Masitova and Alison Vincent, but also the "Man in Water" made of resin by Bruce Denny). Other themes are "Lovely Moods" and of course "Shiny Glass" in many shop windows. But the themes "Noble Dark" and "Beauty of Nature" are also very popular with us, just as we want to reach a very young audience with "Pop Art" in dialogue with uranium glass and metal sculptures in neon colours. Finally, the theme of "space" was added with glass and wooden wall sculptures because the artists Carolin Zibulka and Antimo Bertolino were looking for galactic inspiration for their works.
With our carefully curated concept, we want to introduce all art collectors to a whole new world. On the other hand, with this super-beautiful look, we also reach many people who have never had access to art before. However, our presentations are always just suggestions from us; all works can of course also be purchased individually!
The number of galleries on the Internet is increasing rapidly, and this naturally gives art buyers (if they specifically search for them) a gigantic selection of works of art. And the Internet presence saves the respective portal expensive commercial space in a busy pedestrian zone and high personnel costs. But ultimately, a photo of a work of art on the Internet cannot be compared to reality, which is why the collaborating artists are also increasingly demanding physical galleries, as the 1:1 experience is irreplaceable and the works are perceived completely differently in the original. Often the intensity and luminosity of the works cannot be reproduced in photos at all, or at least that is what we hear almost every day in our gallery rooms.
The works we select from a wide range of artists suit a wide variety of interior design styles and colours and are currently priced between CHF 150 and 70,000. For example, for Scandinavian or British style interiors, we offer minimalist works of art or works from nature. Our stated goal is to offer works of art that create a unique and positive atmosphere in your own home, at work, in company entrance areas, in doctors' waiting rooms and hotel lobbies.
Great works of art have a positive effect on your personal living space and your work environment and can change your life for the long term.
So don't do without "calorie-free happiness hormones" in your everyday life!
With our commercial background, we act as art dealers. To the relief of many artists, because their works should not only be exhibited artistically, but above all sold. We are delighted that our gallery's all-round feel-good concept has brought a completely new and very fresh wind to Ticino on Lake Maggiore, which is praised by local residents as well as fans of Ascona and loyal long-term tourists from all over the world.
We look forward to your visit and welcome you to our homepage!
