“I see myself as a painter rather than an artist in a strong sense, but, far from this play of words, I'm just trying to paint nature for the joy of it.”
Emil Mlynárčik is a Slovakian painter whose art has been featured in several solo exhibitions in Poland, Slovakia, as well as in Portugal. Having grown up in a small mountainous village, he was surrounded by folk art, song, dance and crafts. For over 30 years Mlynárčik has dedicated himself to mastering realistic depictions of nature and rural motifs. He works on linen canvases and exclusively uses oils because they dry slower, allowing him to focus on detail.
