A mixed-media artist,a businesswoman, and a mother of four, Marge Organo is a late bloomer in the field of Visual Arts. She chose to semi-retire from her thriving pharmaceutical business to devote her time to the arts. She has been drawing and painting informally and in June 2014, she decided to take formal lessons in drawing, painting and sculpture. She worked on a variety of media starting with clay modeling and cold casting of human figures and abstract forms, then she moved to brass, and later to bronze casting. She also dabbled in abstract painting, tile mosaic, furniture upholstery, interior and exterior design and construction.
In 2015, she went on to pursue studies in glass sculpture at The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, USA, one of the best glassmaking schools in the world. In Corning she immersed herself in the very labor-intensive coldworking and lamination of optical glass and color infusion in glass lamination under the tutelage of the Czech glass masters. The following year, she was granted a scholarship at the same institution where she learned other techniques on glass lamination. She has been a member of the Glass Art Society based in Seattle, Washington, USA, since 2015.
She had her first solo glass sculpture exhibit in February 2017 at Ricco Renzo Gallery in Makati City. Prior to this, she participated in major art exhibits such as Alay Sining 7, 8, and 9, all held at The Atrium at Greenbelt 5, Makati City. She also joined group sculpture shows such as the 11th, 12th and 13th Sculpture Review which were all held at The Art Center of SM Megamall, and the first and second Iskultor shows.
She also participated in exhibits organized by some of the top art galleries in Metro Manila. She just finished another solo exhibit at Galerie Joaquin in September 2017, and made a very successful debut in the recent ManilArt 2017 under Galerie Raphael.
At present, her works are displayed in residences and offices of private collectors in the Philippines, Europe and the USA.
